The Move!

We said goodbye to Orange County last week! After 31 years living in Laguna Beach and Laguna Niguel, we sold the house and packed up our things! Mammoth Lakes is now our new home. It’s been a lot of change for us in a short period of time, but we’re excited to start this new chapter in our lives.

The aspen trees are yellow, and the air is getting colder. Annemarie is hoping autumn holds on a bit longer before winter is upon us. I tend to agree, as I’m enjoying the cycling in and around Mammoth and Bishop. Once the snow falls, the cycling will go mostly indoors!

Our move from OC went mostly smooth. I knew hiring the low-bid mover might pose some issues, but they were great. Upon arriving in Mammoth though, things started going a bit south. Who would have thought that one of the two movers would be affected by altitude sickness? It happened. The truck was only half empty, and one of the two movers was down for the count. We told them they’d have to go down to Bishop for the night, but their boss in Huntington Beach was having none of it. He wanted the movers to unload and drive all the way back to OC that night. Brutal. We persevered though, and the movers did spend the night in Bishop before returning the next morning to complete their job.

A week post-move and things are feeling normal. My friends Bryon, Dave and Jimmy came into town for a guys’ weekend, and Annemarie split town for Ontario to visit her family. Now, Annemarie is back, Ozzy is happy, and things are feeling great!

All for now!
